Engine 1 Registration # L-1447, Model B-550 CC, Shipped to Chesterton on 6/16/1941. It has a Lycoming 8cylinder engine, 3 3/4” bore x 4 3/4” stroke, 150 hp. The pump is a 500 GPM Cent. It has a 200 gallon water tank, and a 3 man cab. The Chesterton Fire Department membership had purchased Engine 1 in 2007 and have begun initial plans to refurbish Engine 1 as it once was in 1939. As we begin the refurbishment we will be posting information and pictures of our progress.
