The Chesterton Fire Department is a combination career and volunteer department. We staff one engine company with 3 fire fighters 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We cover the town of Chesterton, unincorporated Westchester township. We service about 15,000 people.

The mission of the Chesterton Fire Department is to provide the highest quality fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue, and public education services to the residents of Chesterton with the resources available to the department.
